		<description>Thanks for the helpful tips.  It helped me finish the task.

However I ran into some rough weather with the initial process.  Using a Snow Leopard install disc I did not get prompted to &quot;Select a destination&quot; (Step #4 in the reinstallation section).  So, I would end up with a fresh Snow Leopard installation with all my files still intact.  

After 2 or 3 attempts with no success, I then pulled up the Snow Leopard DVD and then selected Disc Utilities.  From there I chose to Erase.  After that and a restart I was brought to the setup assistant and I followed your instructions.  Worked like a charm.

A minor note on the instructions to execute in single user mode.  The blog output is clipped so I could not see the end of the launchctl command.  I had to pull up the page source :-P
